Description

The Lucidia is a 400mm diameter tapered drum lampshade built on a PVC frame and wrapped in white polyester fabric. The shade fits standard E27 lamp holders via the 1130mm suspension cable supplied, allowing it to be used as a pendant shade hung from a ceiling rose, or fitted to a compatible floor lamp or table lamp frame with a centre column lampshade carrier.

The white fabric diffuses light evenly across the room, softening direct bulb glare and casting a warm ambient glow suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, reading corners and home offices. The 400mm diameter suits ceiling heights of 2.4m and above when used as a pendant, or pairs with floor lamps 1.4-1.7m tall where the shade sits at approximately eye level when seated. The tapered drum shape is wider at the top than the base, directing some light upward onto the ceiling as well as downward into the room.

The PVC frame holds its shape without sagging over time and resists warping from bulb heat when used with LED or low-wattage bulbs. The white fabric covering can be spot-cleaned with a dry microfibre cloth or gently vacuumed on low suction to remove dust. The shade weighs approximately 300g, so the 1130mm cable handles the load without additional ceiling hook support when used as a pendant. Yes, as long as the lamp base has a centre column lampshade carrier with a compatible fitting ring. The shade is designed to fit standard UK and European lampshade carriers, but check the carrier diameter matches the shade aperture before ordering.

How is the fabric cleaned?

Dust the fabric with a dry microfibre cloth or use a vacuum cleaner on low suction with a soft brush attachment. For light marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used, but avoid soaking the fabric and do not use spray cleaners or solvents.
