Description

The Lucida is a 5 light semi-flush ceiling fitting with five white blown glass globe diffusers mounted on adjustable matt black metal arms radiating from a central ceiling rose. Each arm extends at different angles and lengths from the 115mm-diameter ceiling mount, creating an asymmetric spread across an 800mm maximum projection and 620mm length. The arms are individually positionable during installation, allowing the five light sources to be directed where required.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.8m where a traditional pendant would hang too low, the Lucida provides multi-point light distribution without projecting more than 200mm from the ceiling surface. The semi-flush format suits living rooms, dining areas, hallways and bedrooms where even ceiling coverage is needed across a 12-18m² floor area. Each arm holds a single G9 bulb (sold separately), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible G9 LED and dimmer switch.

The white blown glass globes are hand-formed, so each has slight size and shape variation that becomes visible when lit — this is characteristic of blown glass production. The matt black finish on the metal frame absorbs light rather than reflecting it, keeping visual attention on the globes themselves. The 800mm reach works in rectangular rooms where the asymmetric arm arrangement can be oriented along the room's longest axis. The fitting carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor installation only and comes with a 5-year manufacturer warranty from Ideal Lux.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Lucida takes five G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with 3-5W G9 LED bulbs in 2700K-3000K for a warm white output. The fitting is dimmable when used with dimmable G9 LEDs and a compatible dimmer switch.

Can the arms be adjusted after installation?

The arms are positionable during installation to set the initial configuration. Once tightened, they are not designed for frequent adjustment. Repositioning them later requires partial disassembly of the fitting.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The semi-flush design projects approximately 200mm from the ceiling surface, making it suitable for ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.8m. Lower ceilings can accommodate the fitting, but the arms may feel visually intrusive. Higher ceilings above 2.8m may benefit from a longer-drop pendant instead.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is for dry indoor use only and is not protected against moisture ingress. It cannot be installed in bathrooms or other damp environments.
