Description

The Lucid is a 485mm diameter pendant light from Ideal Lux, housing five E27 bulbs inside individual hand-blown smoked glass globes suspended within a transparent outer glass dome. The frame is finished in black chrome, and the cables are adjustable on installation using automatic stoppers. Each of the five internal globes acts as a secondary diffuser, softening the light from the bulbs before it passes through the larger smoked glass outer shell.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Lucid provides ambient lighting across a 2-3m surface area below the fitting. The adjustable steel cables allow the pendant to be set at the appropriate height for the room — typically 700-800mm above a dining table or worktop. The automatic cable stoppers fix the height without needing to cut the cables during installation, making later adjustments possible if the room layout changes.

The smoked glass outer dome measures 485mm across and approximately 250mm in height, giving the fitting substantial visual presence without overpowering a typical 6-8 seater dining table. The black chrome frame coordinates with matte black, gunmetal and dark-toned contemporary interiors, while the smoked glass softens the light output and reduces glare compared to clear glass alternatives. The five E27 sockets accept standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each (bulbs sold separately), allowing flexibility in light temperature and brightness.

The IP20 rating confirms this pendant is suitable for dry indoor environments. The five-year warranty from Ideal Lux covers manufacturing defects in the frame, glass and electrical components when the fitting is installed and used according to the manufacturer's instructions.
