Description

The Lucera is a 250mm curved outdoor wall light with a die-cast aluminium body finished in black powder-coat and a white acrylic diffuser panel that wraps around the front and sides. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and casts light both forward and downward through the diffuser, distributing illumination across adjacent wall surfaces and ground areas without harsh glare.

Designed for exterior installation on porches, patios, pathway walls and entrance areas, the Lucera carries an IP44 rating that protects against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for UK weather conditions in sheltered or semi-exposed positions. The curved diffuser softens the light output from whatever bulb you fit, so you can use a warm-white LED for a welcoming glow or a cooler daylight-temperature bulb for pathway visibility.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion better than pressed steel alternatives and the powder-coated finish is baked on for durability through freeze-thaw cycles and UV exposure. The 120mm projection from the wall gives the fitting enough presence to be seen as an intentional design element rather than a purely functional box, and the curved profile prevents sharp corners that could catch on passing shoulders or bags.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and against splashing water from any direction. This makes it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, porch canopies, or covered patios. It is not rated for full exposure to driving rain or direct hose-down cleaning.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Lucera takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb up to the maximum wattage specified by the manufacturer. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit a 6-10W LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient outdoor lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming; dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb you choose.

How is the fitting mounted to the wall?

The Lucera mounts via a back plate fixed to the wall with screws and wall plugs. The electrical connection is made behind the back plate, and the main body of the fitting then clips or screws onto the plate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.
