Description

The Lucent is a 10cm diameter surface-mounted LED downlight in matt black aluminium, housing an integrated 25W 3000K LED behind a recessed lens. The cylindrical body projects approximately 120mm from the ceiling and contains both the driver and the LED module within a single fitting, so no separate driver box or recessed ceiling void is needed.

Designed for installation on solid ceilings where recessed downlights are impractical or where a visible downlight aesthetic is preferred, the Lucent suits entrance halls, corridors, kitchens and commercial spaces. The recessed lens sits behind a black plastic mask inside the cylinder aperture, which reduces direct glare when viewed from below and concentrates the 3000K warm white light downwards into a defined beam. The 25W output delivers enough light to work as primary lighting in a 2.5-3m square area or as accent lighting over countertops and feature zones.

The matt black finish absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, so the fitting itself recedes visually against dark or mid-tone ceilings. The aluminium body acts as a heat sink for the LED module, allowing passive cooling without vents or fans. At 104mm diameter the Lucent fits standard ceiling rose spacing and can be grouped in multiples along a corridor or kitchen run. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments.

No. The Lucent is surface-mounted, meaning the entire fitting sits below the ceiling surface. It requires only a standard ceiling rose and wiring connection — no void, no cut-out, no plasterwork.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated 25W LED is not compatible with dimmer switches. If dimming is required, consider a different model or a mains-dimmable driver variant.

What beam angle does it produce?

The recessed lens and internal mask concentrate the light into a directional beam. Exact beam angle is not specified by Ideal Lux, but the design suits task and accent lighting rather than wide-area ambient fill.

Can it be used in bathrooms?
