Description

The Louvre is a 4-light semi-flush ceiling fitting built around a rectangular metal cage finished in graphite, with horizontal clear glass slats forming the four outer faces. Four E27 bulb holders sit within the cage, each accepting bulbs up to 60W (sold separately). The 314mm drop from ceiling to base and 392mm square footprint suit rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards where a traditional pendant would hang too low.

Designed for kitchens, hallways, bedrooms and living rooms with lower ceilings, the Louvre provides ambient overhead light without projecting far into the space. The horizontal glass slats act as baffles, breaking up direct glare from exposed filament bulbs while allowing light to pass through at multiple angles. The graphite finish on the metal frame reads as a dark charcoal grey, sitting comfortably with both industrial-styled interiors and contemporary neutrals.

The rectangular cage measures 392mm x 392mm in plan, giving enough scale to anchor a 3m x 3m room or a 4m hallway without overwhelming smaller spaces. The clear glass slats are held in metal channels on all four sides, with the top and bottom of the cage left open to allow heat from the bulbs to vent upwards. Fitting requires connection to a standard UK ceiling rose with a single live, neutral and earth supply.

The horizontal glass slats can be wiped with a microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner once the bulbs are removed and the fitting is switched off at the mains. The slats are fixed within the metal channels and do not need to be removed for cleaning.
