Description

Five slim curved trapezium shades hang from a round polished chrome plate, each on its own adjustable suspension so you can stagger the heights or run them level. The shades are chrome as well, narrow at the neck and flaring gently outward, and the mirror finish bounces light back into the room as much as it sends it down. The plate measures 45cm across, and the drops can sit close to the ceiling or be let out long for a room with height.

We reach for it over a long dining table or a kitchen island, where the separate drops can follow the line of the worktop and put light where the work happens. It suits a hallway or a landing with room to spare above head height too, and the group spreads enough light for a good-sized sitting room without one shade fighting for attention. Each takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W, and it will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a dimmer switch.

The polished chrome runs right through, across the ceiling plate, the stems and the shades themselves. A mirror finish shows fingerprints more readily than a matt one, so a wipe with a barely damp cloth followed by a buff with a dry one keeps it looking sharp; skip abrasive creams and keep moisture away from the lampholders. Wiring is for indoor mains use and an earth connection is required. It carries a one year warranty.
