Description

Five slim curved trapezium shades hang from a round polished chrome plate, each one finished in chrome and smoke so the light reads soft and slightly grey rather than bright. The plate measures 45cm across, which gives the shades room to sit apart without the cluster looking scattered. Each drop is adjustable, so you can set the shades level with one another or stagger them for a little movement.

We reach for this where a single pendant would look thin: over a long dining table, above a kitchen island, or in a stairwell where there is height to fill and the shades can be seen from below as well as beside. The E27 sockets take a wide choice of lamp, and we would fit clear LED globes here so the smoke tone does the shaping rather than a frosted envelope. It can be dimmed, though you will need dimmable lamps and a matching dimmer, as neither comes with the fitting.

The frame and the plate carry a polished chrome finish that keeps its shine with very little effort; fingerprints lift with a dry microfibre cloth, and the shades want the same gentle treatment once the fitting is off at the switch and cool to the hands. It is for dry rooms indoors, well clear of splashing and steam. The same slim curved trapezium shade appears elsewhere in the range on single light flush fittings, in polished chrome with amber, clear or chrome shades and in antique gold, so a hallway or landing can echo the dining room without repeating it. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included.
