Description

Five clear globes hang from a round polished chrome plate, each one open at the mouth so the lamp inside sits in full view. The plate measures 45cm across, gathering the shades into a close cluster rather than stringing them along a bar, and every drop adjusts independently, so the globes can sit level or step down at staggered heights. Polished chrome catches whatever light is already in the room, while the clear shades keep the cluster feeling light rather than heavy. It takes E27 lamps and will dim, given dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer.

We would hang this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the adjustable drops let you tune the height to the surface below and the clear shades stay out of the eyeline. It also suits a hallway with decent ceiling height, or the well of a staircase where the staggered globes read from more than one floor. Because the shades are clear, the lamp you choose is part of the look: we reach for LED lamps with a shape worth seeing, since a plain one will show through. It is a good choice where light needs to spread across a wide area rather than pool in one place.

The frame and ceiling plate are finished in polished chrome, with clear shades to match.
