Description

Four slim curved trapezium shades hang in a row from a straight chrome bar, each on its own adjustable suspension, so you can set them level or stagger them across the length. The bar runs 1.2m end to end and stays narrow front to back, so it reads as a line of light rather than a solid block. Frame and shades share the same polished chrome, and each E27 socket takes a lamp of up to 20W.

Over a dining table it does the job a single pendant struggles with, spreading light along the length of the top instead of pooling it in the middle. It suits a kitchen island or a long breakfast bar just as well, and we would hang it over a wide console in a hall where the ceiling allows. The drop adjusts across a generous span, so it can sit low over a table or pull up closer for a standard ceiling. With suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer it will dim, which helps when one table does homework and dinner both.

The frame and shades are finished in polished chrome throughout, a bright mirror surface that picks up whatever is going on around it. Fingermarks show, so a dry microfibre cloth now and again is all it asks; skip sprays and creams, and let the lamps go cold before you handle them. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from steam and splashes. It carries a one year warranty. The same slim curved trapezium shade turns up elsewhere in the range on flush fittings, in polished chrome or antique gold, if you want a smaller room to echo the dining table. Lamps are not included.
