Lori 4 Light Clear Pendant 1.2m - Polished Chrome & Clear/Smoke

Four round glass globes hang in a row from a slim polished chrome bar, each one open at the mouth so the lamp inside stays in view. Clear and smoke glass keeps the row light on the eye rather than heavy overhead. Each globe is small, so together they read as a line of bright points rather than a solid block of glass. The bar spans 1.2m end to end, and the suspension adjusts, so the globes can hang close under the ceiling or sit low over a table.

A linear pendant wants a long surface beneath it. We would hang this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the row of globes follows the run of the worktop and the light spreads along its length instead of pooling in the middle. It also works down a long hallway or above a run of shelving where a lone pendant would leave the ends dark. It takes E27 lamps of up to 20W each, and it will dim if you pair suitable lamps with a compatible dimmer. We would choose an LED lamp with a tidy glass envelope here, since the open mouths leave each one on show.

The frame is metal in a polished chrome finish, bright enough to pick up whatever light is in the room, with glass shades hung beneath it. Clear glass shows marks quickly, so give the globes a wipe with a lint free cloth once they are cold, and keep cleaning sprays off the chrome. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Lori range runs to round flush fittings in polished chrome and antique gold, with globe, trapezium and wine glass shades, so a hallway or landing can pick up the theme. Lamps are not included.

How long is the bar, and how big are the globes?

The bar measures 1200mm from end to end, and each round globe shade is 80mm across.

How high or low can it hang?

The drop adjusts between 270mm at its shortest and 2270mm at its longest, so it can sit tight to the ceiling or fall well down over a dining table.

What lamps does it need?

It uses four E27 lamps, each rated up to 20W. Lamps are supplied separately, so you can pick the shape and colour temperature you prefer.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a dimmer switch matched to them. A dimmer is not supplied with the fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as kitchens, dining rooms and hallways, away from splashes and steam.

How should the glass be cleaned?

Switch off at the wall and let everything cool, then use a dry lint free cloth on the globes. Anything stubborn can be lifted with a barely damp cloth and dried straight away.
