Description
Four small opal globes sit in a row along a slim satin nickel bar, each one round with an open mouth at the base, so light drops downward as well as glowing softly through the shade. The bar runs to a little over 1.2m, giving a low horizontal line of light rather than a single bright point. Every globe takes its own E27 lamp, rated up to 20W, and the suspension is adjustable, so the fitting can sit close under the ceiling or hang well down into the room.
We reach for a linear pendant like this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the run of light follows the run of the surface below and nothing ends up hanging in the wrong place. It also works above a long hallway console, or in a tall room where one lone pendant would look lost. With dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer it will dim, which is worth having over a table you eat at. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; it is not one for a bathroom or a covered porch.
The metalwork wears a satin nickel finish, a soft grey sheen that reads quieter than chrome and sits happily with pale timber, brushed steel and off-white walls. The opal shades are even in tone and diffuse the lamp rather than showing it off. Dust the globes with a dry cloth, lift any marks with a barely damp one and dry them straight after, using nothing abrasive and no spray cleaner near the metal. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range runs to single light flush fittings in antique gold and polished chrome, one of them pairing the same opal globe shape with the gold. Lamps are not included, so choose them with the shades in mind.

Frequently Asked
How far does it drop?
The suspension adjusts from 270mm at its shortest to 2270mm at full extension, so it can sit tight under the ceiling or hang low over a table.
How big are the globes and the bar?
Each globe measures 80mm across, and the bar they sit on is 1200mm long.
What lamps does it need?
Four E27 lamps, each up to 20W. LED is the sensible choice, and the lamp shape you pick will show through the opal shades, so it is worth considering the look as well as the output.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor the dimmer come with it.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry indoor rooms.
How should the shades be cleaned?
Switch the light off and let the lamps go cold, then dust the globes with a dry cloth. A barely damp cloth will lift fingermarks, followed by a dry one.
