Description

Three slim curved trapezium shades hang from a round 40cm ceiling plate, each one clear so the lamp inside stays part of the look. The satin nickel finish is soft rather than bright, and the drop adjusts over a good range, so the shades can sit up close under a modest ceiling or come down to dining height. The result is a wide, low shape that covers a length of table without much visual weight.

We would hang this over a dining table or a kitchen island, where the shades sit in a line and share the light out rather than pooling it in the middle. The adjustable drop also makes it a sensible choice for a hallway or a stairwell, letting you set the height to the room rather than accept whatever a fixed pendant gives you. Each shade takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W, so a warm white LED is the natural fit, and clear shades reward a lamp you are happy to look at.

Metalwork and ceiling plate share the same satin nickel, and the shades keep the curved trapezium profile the Lori range is built around. We stock it in satin nickel with clear shades. Clear shades show dust and fingermarks sooner than tinted ones, so an occasional going over with a dry cloth keeps them honest; wait until the lamps are cold before you touch them. It carries a one year warranty. Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms.
