Three slim curved trapezium shades in amber glass sit beneath a round polished chrome plate, 40cm across and shallow enough to keep the whole fitting tight to the ceiling. Each shade takes its own E27 lamp, so the light is spread across the plate rather than pooled in one spot, and the amber glass gives it a warm, faintly honeyed cast once switched on. The shades are matched and set evenly round the plate, so it reads as one piece rather than a cluster.

It suits rooms where a pendant would sit too low: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom under a low ceiling, or a small kitchen where headroom matters. We reach for it when a room needs warmth and a little polish without anything hanging in the way. It will dim with compatible lamps and a suitable dimmer, worth planning for in a bedroom or dining room; the dimmer is separate. The output depends on the lamps you fit, so you can set the tone warm or brighter to suit the room.

The frame is polished chrome, bright and reflective, so it picks up daylight as well as lamplight. To keep it looking right, switch off at the wall, let the glass go cold, then wipe the chrome with a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away; the amber shades come up best with a dry lint-free cloth and no spray. What lamps does it take, and how powerful can they be?

It takes three E27 lamps, each up to 20W. LED is the sensible choice here, and the shade shape means it is worth picking a lamp that sits neatly within it.

How much room does it need on the ceiling?

The plate measures 400mm in diameter and the fitting stands 90mm deep, so it keeps close to the ceiling and works where headroom is limited.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Neither the lamps nor the dimmer come with it.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 and belongs in dry rooms such as hallways, bedrooms and living spaces rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.

How should the amber shades be cleaned?

Switch off, wait for everything to cool, then dust with a dry soft cloth. Avoid sprays and solvents, which can dull the amber tint and mark the chrome.

Is there a smaller version in the same finish?
