Lori 3 Light E27 Clear Pendant 40cm - Satin Nickel & Clear/Smoke

Three glass wine shades hang from a round satin nickel plate 40cm across, each on its own adjustable suspension. The glass is clear and smoke, so the lamp stays visible and the light spreads sideways as well as down. Because every drop moves independently, the shades can sit level in a line or fall at staggered heights, which is what makes this one worth hanging where a single pendant would look thin. We stock it as an E27 fitting, taking up to 20W per lamp.

Over a dining table it is the obvious use, with the shades brought low enough to read the grain of the wood. It works just as well along a kitchen island, above a run of open shelving, or in a hallway where the ceiling is generous and the drop can be let out. The suspension shortens right down for rooms with less height above head level. Dimming is possible with compatible lamps and a dimmer switch, neither of which comes with the fitting, and it is one we would put on a dimmed circuit for evening meals.

The metalwork is finished in a soft satin nickel, warm enough to sit alongside brass or chrome elsewhere in the room without clashing. Glass this clear shows fingerprints and kitchen haze, so wipe the shades now and then with a barely damp cloth and dry them off; the nickel asks for no more than dusting. It carries a one year warranty. The wider Lori range runs down to small round flush fittings in antique gold and polished chrome, handy if you want related shade shapes on a landing or in a cloakroom on the same floor. Lamps are not included.

How far down will the pendants hang?

Each suspension adjusts between 270mm and 2270mm, measured from the ceiling plate to the bottom of the shade, and the three drops can be set independently of one another.

What lamps should I use?

It takes three E27 lamps rated up to 20W each. LED is the sensible choice, and because the glass is clear the shape of the lamp will be seen, so pick a globe or filament style you are happy to look at.

Can I dim it?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer switch. Neither the lamps nor the dimmer is supplied.

How wide is the fitting overall?

The ceiling plate is 400mm in diameter, so allow that much clearance when planning a position over a table or island.

How do I keep the glass looking clean?

Switch the light off and let everything cool, then wipe each shade with a soft cloth lightly dampened in warm water and buff dry. Avoid abrasive creams and solvent sprays on the satin nickel.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. This is a fitting for dry rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens, hallways and living spaces, not for bathroom zones or covered outdoor areas.
