Description

Three clear globe shades hang from a round polished chrome plate, each open at the mouth so the lamp within stays in view. The plate measures 40cm across, giving the shades space to sit apart rather than crowd each other. Every drop adjusts independently, so the globes can be levelled for an even wash of light or staggered for a looser arrangement above a table.

A dining table is the obvious home for it, though it works over a kitchen island or in a hallway with the height to carry a pendant. Because the shades are clear, the lamp you fit is part of the look, and we would choose an LED with a shapely envelope rather than a plain white capsule. It is one we suggest where a lone centre pendant has never quite covered the length of a table. It will dim, given lamps that dim and a matching dimmer on the circuit, which helps where the same room is used for supper and then for reading.

The frame and stems are finished in polished chrome, bright enough to pick up whatever the globes throw back at them, and the shades are clear throughout rather than tinted. Keep it looking right by turning the power off, letting everything cool, then working over each globe with a lint-free cloth; a slightly damp one for fingermarks, and nothing abrasive on the chrome. The same open mouth globe shape appears elsewhere in the Lori range as a single light flush fitting, in polished chrome and in antique gold, which is handy where a ceiling sits too low for a pendant. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included.

No. It is rated for dry indoor rooms only, so we would keep it to living spaces, kitchens, dining rooms and hallways.
