Description

Three small clear globes sit in a row along a slim polished chrome bar, each shade open at the mouth so the lamp inside stays on show. The globes measure 80mm across, which keeps the fitting looking light and airy for its width, and the chrome catches whatever light is in the room. Suspension is adjustable, so it can sit high and tight under the ceiling or hang well down over a surface, and it takes E27 lamps.

A row of light rather than a single point makes this one for a kitchen island, a length of worktop, a breakfast bar or a narrow dining table, spreading light evenly across 850mm instead of pooling it in the middle. It suits rooms where the ceiling is high enough to let a pendant hang properly, and it works as well over a hallway console as it does in a kitchen. Because the shades are clear, we would fit decorative filament LED lamps here and let them be part of the look. Dimming is possible with the right lamps and a compatible dimmer.

The metalwork is finished in polished chrome throughout, from the ceiling plate along the bar to the lamp holders, with clear shades as the only contrast. Fingerprints show on bright chrome, so a dry microfibre cloth run along the bar now and again keeps it looking sharp; the globes want the same treatment once the lamps have gone cold, and nothing abrasive. It carries a one year warranty. Elsewhere in the Lori range there are flush fittings for lower ceilings, in polished chrome or antique gold, with globe, trapezium and wine shapes to pick from, so a hall or landing can be tied back to the kitchen without matching it exactly. Lamps are not included.
