Description

The Looker is a 78cm five-light chandelier built around a central hub with matt white metal shades and beech wood arm accents. Each of the five shades houses an E27 bulb (sold separately) and pivots on its arm, allowing the direction of light to be adjusted after installation. The exposed braided cable runs from the ceiling rose to the central hub, with the cable itself forming part of the visible design rather than being hidden.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and open-plan living areas with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Looker provides distributed light across a wide area. The 780mm diameter suits tables of 1.6-2.2m length or kitchen islands of similar span. The drop is adjustable between 470mm and 700mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 650-800mm above a dining surface depending on ceiling height. Each shade can be angled independently, so the five lights can be directed towards different zones or all aligned to focus on a single area.

The matt white finish on the metal shades and central hub contrasts with the natural beech wood on the arms, giving the fitting a Scandinavian aesthetic that pairs with both warm-toned timber interiors and cooler neutral schemes. The beech is clear-lacquered rather than stained, so the natural grain and variation in the wood remains visible. The five shades are tapered cones with the lamp aperture facing downwards when the shades are in their default horizontal position, but rotating each shade upwards turns the fitting into an indirect ceiling wash light. At 3.8kg the chandelier needs secure fixing to a joist or ceiling brace rather than just plasterboard.

What bulbs does it take?

The Looker takes five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 6-8W LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for dining and kitchen areas. The specification does not state a maximum wattage, but 60W per bulb is a sensible upper limit for heat management.

Can the shades be adjusted after installation?

Yes. Each shade pivots on its arm, allowing the direction of light to be changed without re-wiring. The shades can be angled downwards for direct table lighting, horizontally for mid-level ambient light, or upwards to bounce light off the ceiling.

Is it dimmable?

The chandelier itself is compatible with dimming, but you need both dimmable E27 bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch on the lighting circuit. Most LED E27 bulbs are now dimmable, but check the bulb packaging before purchase.

What ceiling fixing does it need?

At 3.8kg the Looker needs to be fixed to a ceiling joist or a ceiling brace rated for the weight. A standard plasterboard ceiling rose without backing will not safely support this chandelier. If there is no joist in the correct position, a metal brace bar can be installed between two joists.
