Londontowne 1 Light Outdoor Wall Lantern - Weathered Chestnut

The Londontowne is a 297mm-high outdoor wall lantern with a weathered chestnut composite frame, clear seeded glass panels on three sides, and a pyramidal metal roof with turned finial. The lantern houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) behind the seeded glass, which breaks up the light source into scattered points and softens the output across the front of a property.

Designed for front porches, covered entrances, garage flanks and garden gates where traditional styling is preferred over contemporary minimalism, the Londontowne pairs an IP44 weather rating with the appearance of aged metal. The composite construction resists corrosion, warping and UV degradation more effectively than painted steel or cast aluminium, while the weathered chestnut finish replicates the patina of aged bronze without the weight or maintenance demands of real metal.

The 206mm projection from the wall gives enough clearance to avoid the lantern sitting flat against brickwork, allowing light to spill behind the fitting as well as forward. The seeded glass texture hides the bulb shape when lit and adds visual depth to the panels, with each bubble and imperfection in the glass casting its own micro-shadow. What bulb should I use?

The lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the traditional styling and seeded glass. Clear filament bulbs work particularly well with the seeded texture.

Is the composite material durable?

Yes. The lantern mounts to a backplate that fixes to the wall with stainless steel screws and wall plugs (suitable for brick, stone or rendered masonry). The backplate is designed to accept standard UK outdoor wiring through a 25mm knockout and conceal the cable entry behind the lantern body once installed.
