What wall fixings are needed for the 25kg weight?

Does the polished steel tarnish over time?

Polished steel does not tarnish under typical indoor conditions but will show fingerprints and smudges if touched. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth or a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household sprays or chemical cleaners which may leave residue on the polished surface.

Is the central panel a standard mirror or safety-backed?

The central glass panel is a standard mirror. Schuller does not specify safety backing in the product documentation. If the mirror will be installed in a high-traffic area or where there is risk of impact, consider consulting a professional installer about adding safety film to the reverse.
