Description

The Lomaltas is a smart LED flush ceiling light made from two overlapping square frames in black steel. Each frame is lined with a white plastic diffuser and held just clear of a square base in brown wood. Where the frames cross, they form a small square at the centre, so the light reads as a crisp geometric outline rather than a solid panel. It measures 77cm long, 49.5cm wide and 8.5cm high. The light source is integrated LED, rated at 4 x 8W, so the LEDs are part of the fitting and there is no bulb to buy. Its IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it sits so close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where a pendant would hang too low: a living room, a bedroom, a hallway or a home office. The black and brown pairing looks at home beside warm wood floors and darker furniture alike, and the open frames keep the ceiling looking light rather than crowded. The colour temperature adjusts between 2700 and 6500K, so one fitting gives a warm, relaxed glow for the evening and a cooler, crisper light for reading or desk work. It is dimmable too, so you can set the brightness to suit the hour.

It is controlled by app, and it also works with a remote control, which is sold separately. There is no switch on the fitting itself, as it is switched at the wall like a standard ceiling light. It runs on 220-240V mains, has an energy class of E and weighs 2.383KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download.
