Description

The Lofoten is an outdoor pendant light built around a rectangular black steel frame with clear glass panels on all four sides, suspended on a black chain from a matching ceiling rose. The frame measures 300mm tall by 190mm wide and houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) at the centre, visible through the clear glass on all sides. The IP44 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for covered porches, verandas, pergolas and carports.

Designed for outdoor areas with overhead protection rather than fully exposed positions, the Lofoten hangs from a chain with a minimum drop of 435mm and a maximum of 930mm, adjustable on installation to suit ceiling heights between 2.3m and 3.0m. The open-frame lantern style allows the bulb to project light in all directions while the glass panels protect the bulb from direct weather exposure. The black powder-coated finish on the electro-galvanised steel resists corrosion from moisture and salt air in coastal locations.

The rectangular frame proportions suit covered outdoor dining areas, entrance porches and pathways under eaves where a clean-lined lantern style is needed without the weight of traditional cast-iron designs. The 190mm width keeps the pendant compact enough for narrow porches and walkways, while the 300mm height gives presence when hung over an outdoor table or doorway. The clear glass shows the full bulb filament, so pairing with a decorative LED filament bulb (up to 60W equivalent) enhances the visual effect when lit.

Can this be used in fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP44 rating protects against dust and water splashes, but the Lofoten is designed for covered outdoor areas such as porches, verandas, pergolas and carports rather than fully exposed positions. It should not be installed where it receives direct rainfall or is exposed to driving wind and rain.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb (2700K) to complement the open-frame design and show the bulb detail through the clear glass.

How is the drop adjusted?

The chain allows adjustment between 435mm minimum and 930mm maximum drop. The final drop is set during installation by shortening or lengthening the chain before the ceiling rose is fixed, and cannot be adjusted after installation without removing the fitting.

Does it come in other finishes?
