Description

The Loewe is a 2-light wall light with crossed antique brass arms, two bubbled glass clusters at the arms' centre, and a rectangular soft bronze organza shade. The brass arms curve outward from an oval backplate in a figure-8 shape, meeting at the centre where two clusters of bubbled clear glass surround the arms before continuing upward to support the E14 lampholders. An inline switch on the cable allows the light to be turned on and off without returning to a wall switch.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and hallway alcoves where ambient wall lighting is needed alongside overhead sources, the Loewe works particularly well flanking a sofa, either side of a bed as reading lights, or in pairs along a corridor. The 190mm projection from the wall keeps the light clear of furniture pushed against the wall, while the 460mm height gives the shade enough vertical presence to balance a typical 2.4-2.7m ceiling height. The inline switch means the fitting can be wired to a non-switched spur and controlled locally, which is useful in bedrooms where reaching a wall switch may be inconvenient.

The organza shade diffuses the light from the two E14 bulbs (sold separately) into a warm glow rather than direct downlight, softening the illumination across adjacent walls and ceilings. The soft bronze colour of the shade adds warmth to the light output and pairs with the antique brass finish to create a tonal gradient between the metallic frame and the textile shade. The bubbled glass clusters catch and refract light when the fitting is on, adding visual interest to the centre of the crossed arms. At 2.4kg the fitting requires secure fixing into a solid wall or stud position. The backplate measures approximately 310mm wide, giving multiple fixing points for distribution of load.
