Description

The Llamas is a 96cm diameter chandelier with fifteen G4 halogen fittings arranged across sculpted chrome arms that curve outward and upward from a central polished chrome sphere. Each arm varies in diameter and arc length, creating asymmetric movement across the overall frame while maintaining radial balance around the central axis. The polished chrome finish reflects both the halogen light from the bulbs and ambient room light, amplifying brightness and creating surface reflections across the metal.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, dining rooms with 3m+ ceilings, and large living spaces where a single suspended fitting needs to fill the vertical and horizontal volume, the Llamas provides both decorative presence and functional light. The adjustable drop from 770mm to 1250mm allows the chandelier to be set higher in rooms with lower ceilings or dropped further in double-height voids. The fifteen G4 halogen bulbs (sold separately, max 10W each) are dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer, giving control over light output from full brightness for task lighting to low-level ambient for evening use.

The chandelier weighs 12.1kg when fitted, requiring a ceiling mounting point rated for at least 15kg and a back plate diameter of approximately 120mm to accommodate the chrome canopy shown in the image. The polished chrome finish is achieved through electroplating onto a steel armature, giving a mirror-like surface that shows fingerprints during installation but cleans with a dry microfibre cloth once in position. The chandelier takes fifteen G4 halogen capsule bulbs, each rated at a maximum of 10W. G4 bulbs are bi-pin fittings common in decorative lighting. Bulbs are sold separately. Note that this fitting is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs due to transformer requirements — halogen only.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with halogen G4 bulbs and paired with a trailing-edge dimmer switch. A leading-edge dimmer may cause flickering or buzzing. Confirm dimmer compatibility with your electrician during installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 96cm diameter and adjustable 770-1250mm drop suit rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above. How is the polished chrome finish maintained?

Polished chrome shows fingerprints and dust. Clean with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, followed immediately by buffing dry. Avoid spray polishes, which can leave residue that dulls the mirror finish over time.
