Description

The Livingston is a 420mm outdoor wall lantern with a traditional lantern profile, featuring three E14 bulb holders behind clear seeded glass panels set within an imperial bronze composite frame. The seeded glass has a textured surface that scatters light when the bulbs are lit, producing a softer, less direct glow than clear glass while maintaining visibility of the light sources inside.

Designed for covered porches, patio walls and exterior doorways, the Livingston carries an IP44 rating for protection against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor locations where direct rainfall does not hit the fitting. The 193mm projection from the wall gives the lantern enough depth to cast light forward across the threshold or down onto steps. The three E14 bulbs (sold separately) allow up to 120W combined output when using 40W bulbs, though most installations use LED equivalents between 4-6W per bulb.

The imperial bronze finish is a dark bronze with warm undertones that sits between oil-rubbed bronze and antique bronze on the colour spectrum. The composite construction (a resin-based material reinforced for outdoor use) keeps the weight lower than cast metal while maintaining the visual appearance of traditional metalwork. The decorative banding detail at the top and bottom of the frame and the peaked roof cap reference early 20th-century carriage lanterns. The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water from any direction, making the Livingston suitable for sheltered locations such as covered porches, doorway overhangs and patio walls where the fitting is not directly exposed to driving rain. For fully exposed walls without a roof overhang, an IP54 or IP65 rated fitting would be more appropriate.

What bulbs does it require?

The lantern takes three E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each, sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to achieve a traditional glow through the seeded glass without excessive brightness.
