Description

The Lindendale is a 405mm spherical outdoor pendant light with a hand-woven synthetic rattan shade in antique white, suspended on an adjustable chain from a matching white canopy. The shade is constructed from weather-resistant synthetic material woven in a basket-weave pattern that mimics natural rattan, with horizontal banding spaced at regular intervals around the sphere. A single E27 bulb fitting sits inside the globe (bulb sold separately), casting light through the weave and projecting shadow patterns onto surrounding surfaces.

Rated IP44, the Lindendale is designed for sheltered outdoor locations including covered porches, verandas, balconies, and poolside gazebos where the fitting is protected from direct rain exposure. The 1829mm adjustable chain allows the pendant to hang at heights between 543mm and 2372mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for both standard porch ceilings and taller outdoor lounge structures. The antique white finish reads as off-white rather than pure white, with subtle tonal variation across the weave that softens glare and pairs well with coastal, Mediterranean and casual outdoor schemes.

IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction but not direct rain or hose spray. The Lindendale is suitable for covered outdoor areas such as porches, verandas, balconies with overhead cover, and gazebos, but should not be exposed to open sky or weather.

What bulb should I use?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to create ambient outdoor lighting without excessive brightness. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The 1829mm chain can be shortened or lengthened at installation by removing or adding chain links. Once installed, the height can be adjusted again by accessing the ceiling canopy and modifying the chain length, though this requires isolating the power and removing the canopy.

How does the synthetic material compare to natural rattan?

Synthetic rattan resists UV fading, moisture absorption, cracking and brittleness better than natural rattan when exposed to outdoor conditions. The weave maintains its structural integrity and colour across seasons without requiring treatment or sealing.
