Description

The Lexi is an 85cm crystal chandelier built around a polished chrome starburst frame radiating from a central sphere, with 22 G4 bulbs distributed across the metalwork and cascading strands of Asfour crystal hanging from each arm. The frame projects outward in multiple directions, creating a spherical form that fills vertical and horizontal space equally, and the crystal strands extend below the metal framework to add movement and refraction.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, above grand staircases, and large dining rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or higher, the Lexi requires both ceiling space and drop height to display its full form. The minimum drop of 870mm and maximum adjustable drop of 1950mm allow the chandelier to be positioned between 700-1200mm below the ceiling depending on room proportions. The 15kg weight requires a reinforced ceiling fixing point and joist-mounted bracket rather than a standard ceiling rose.

Each of the 22 arms carries a single G4 20W halogen capsule bulb (included), giving a combined 440W output across the fitting. The polished chrome reflects and multiplies light across the metal surface, while the Asfour crystal strands refract that light into prismatic scatter across walls and ceilings. The crystal strands are individually adjustable on their mounting pins, allowing minor repositioning if any strand sits unevenly after installation. The fitting is not compatible with dimmers and requires 220-240V mains power with a transformer built into the canopy.

The starburst frame uses irregular arm lengths to create visual density without geometric repetition, so the chandelier reads as a sculptural object rather than a symmetrical pattern when viewed from different angles. The polished chrome finish requires occasional cleaning with a dry microfibre cloth to maintain reflectivity, and the crystal strands benefit from annual dusting to preserve refraction clarity.

Yes. The Lexi ships with 22 G4 20W halogen capsule bulbs already fitted. These are not LED-compatible, so replacement bulbs must be halogen or standard incandescent G4 capsules up to 20W each.

Is the chandelier dimmable?

No. The fitting uses a built-in transformer for the G4 bulbs and is not compatible with dimmer switches. Installing a dimmer may damage the transformer or cause bulb flicker.

What ceiling height is needed?

The chandelier measures 85cm across and has a minimum drop of 870mm. For rooms where the fitting will hang clear of walkways (entrance halls, above staircases, above dining tables), ceiling heights of 3m or higher allow the chandelier to display its full form without dominating head height. The maximum adjustable drop of 1950mm suits double-height spaces.

Does the 15kg weight require special ceiling fixings?

Yes. The chandelier must be mounted to a joist-mounted bracket or reinforced ceiling fixing point capable of supporting at least 20kg. A standard plasterboard ceiling rose is not sufficient and may fail under the weight. Professional installation is recommended.
