Description

Over-cabinet lighting at its plainest and most useful: a compact head that swivels and tilts to aim light exactly where it is wanted, finished in brass and fed by a slender cable. Each head takes a GU10 lamp, so the beam and the warmth of the light are yours to choose. They come as a pair, with two metres of cable per head and no plug fitted. The whole thing is small enough to disappear once the light is on.

We would use these over a dresser, along a run of kitchen cabinets, above open shelving or inside a glazed display case, anywhere a low, directed pool of light is more helpful than a general glow. The adjustable head means you can wash a worktop, graze a wall of tiles or pick out glassware without moving the fitting itself. There is no switch on the cable, so control comes from elsewhere in the room, and they will dim if you combine dimmable lamps with a suitable dimmer. Lamps of up to 10W suit them.

The construction is straightforward: a compact swivelling head on a fine cable, double insulated throughout and finished in brass. Keep it looking well with an occasional pass of a dry cloth, and give a lamp a few minutes to cool before you handle it. Built for dry indoor positions such as kitchens, studies and dressing rooms, it runs on an ordinary household supply. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same head in black and in satin nickel, and there is a Type A version if you prefer a different shape. Lamps are not included.
