Description

A pair of slim over-cabinet lights, each with a head that tilts and turns so the light can be aimed along a shelf or down onto a worktop rather than sitting fixed. The body is low and black, the flex leaves the back, and each head takes a GU10 lamp. We would fit an LED reflector lamp here, and a dimmable one if you want the light on a dimmer, since the fitting itself has no switch.

These are the lights we suggest for the top of a kitchen run, a dresser, a glazed display cupboard or a set of open shelves in a study, where the light needs to sit above the object and point at it. Two metres of flex on each gives some freedom in where the power comes from, and no plug is fitted. Because they come as a set, a long cabinet can be lit from both ends, while a shorter one leaves you a spare for elsewhere.

It is double insulated, and the black finish keeps the fitting quiet against a cabinet top or a shelf edge, which matters more here than on a light you look at directly. Dust settles on cabinet tops, so switch off at the socket, let the lamp lose its heat, then take a dry cloth to the head and the lens; sprays and solvents are best kept away from the finish. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from steam and splashes. We stock the pair in brass and satin nickel as well as black, and there is another body type in the range.
