Description

This ceramic Christmas tree light-up decoration stands 27.5cm tall and 17.2cm across, a little tree of three wavy-edged tiers in white with a dark blue pattern. A fine leafy vine winds round every tier, dotted with small snowflakes, and each scalloped edge is picked out in deep blue. On the middle tier a blue ribbon ties into a bow with a pair of ballet slippers hanging from it, and a blue star sits at the very top. Stars are cut right through the ceramic all the way round, so when the LED light inside is on, small points of light shine out through each one.

Its height suits a mantelpiece, a bookshelf or the middle of a sideboard, where it can be seen from across the room without crowding the other things you set out for the season. At 17.2cm across it also fits a deep windowsill, a hall table or a bedside table, and on dark winter evenings it gives a quiet corner a festive glow. The blue and white pattern sits happily with a traditional scheme of china and greenery as well as with a simpler modern room. It is made for dry rooms indoors.

The tree is ceramic with a glossy finish, and it runs on three AA batteries, which are not included, so keep three to hand before it goes on display. Needing no plug or cable, it can stand on any flat, dry surface, with no need for a socket nearby. Dust it with a soft dry cloth now and then, and give it a stable spot where it will not be knocked, as ceramic can chip.
