Description

The Laurin is a compact round spotlight built around a single GU10 lamp holder, rated for a PAR16 reflector lamp up to 10W on a 220-240V AC mains supply. The fitting measures 110 x 70 x 110 mm and can be fixed to either a ceiling or a wall, with the head taking the directional beam of whichever GU10 lamp is fitted. In US terms this is a small surface mounted GU10 spot or accent fitting, and like a flush mount LED ceiling light it sits close to the surface rather than hanging on a rod or chain.

The Laurin works well as accent and task lighting in halls, landings, kitchens and home offices, where a single tightly aimed beam highlights a worktop, picture or feature wall. Because it is wall or ceiling mountable, it suits low ceilings and tight corners where a pendant would be in the way, and several can be grouped to wash a run of cabinets or a reading nook. Output and spread depend on the GU10 lamp you fit, so the beam can be set wide for general accent or narrow for a focused pool of light on a specific surface.

The body is aluminium alloy in a two-tone white and gold finish, giving a small but solid fitting at around 250 g. The PAR16 GU10 lamp is user replaceable, so the lamp wattage, colour temperature and beam angle can be chosen and swapped as needs change, and dimming follows the lamp and any wall dimmer fitted. The IP20 rating means it is for dry indoor rooms only and should be kept out of bathrooms and any outdoor or damp location. Is a GU10 lamp included?

The Laurin is supplied as the fitting with a GU10 lamp holder for a PAR16 reflector lamp; the lamp itself is bought separately. This lets you choose the wattage up to 10W, the colour temperature and the beam angle to suit the room.

Can it be fitted to a wall as well as a ceiling?

Yes. The fitting is rated for both wall and ceiling mounting, so it can be used as a downward ceiling spot or angled from a wall to highlight a feature. The head direction is adjusted to aim the beam where you need it.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the GU10 lamp and control you fit rather than the fitting itself. Choose a dimmable GU10 lamp and pair it with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer for smooth control.

How do I clean it?

Switch off and let the lamp cool, then wipe the aluminium body with a soft dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners so the white and gold finish stays unmarked.
