Description

This is a small square spotlight with an angled funnel, so the light leaves off to one side rather than dropping straight down. The face measures 93mm across, and the funnel is fixed at 45 degrees, which gives a set aim with no moving parts to work loose. It takes a GU10 lamp and the lampholder comes with it. We would fit a reflector LED in here, as the funnel is shaped around that sort of lamp.

Angled spotlights earn their keep where you want light on something rather than in the middle of the floor: a run of worktop, a bookcase, a picture, a brick chimney breast or a splashback. Set in a line, they wash a surface evenly and keep the ceiling quiet. Hallways and landings take them well too, aimed along one wall to draw the eye through. It will dim, provided the lamps you choose are dimmable and the dimmer you use is compatible with them.

The body is finished in plain white, so it sits quietly against a white ceiling and all but vanishes once the lamp is off. It is double insulated, and made for dry rooms indoors, which means kitchens, hallways and living spaces rather than a shower zone or an open porch. To clean it, wait until the lamp is cold, wipe the outer rim with a dry cloth, and lift dust from inside the funnel with a soft brush. It carries a two year warranty. The same square funnel is also offered in black, and we stock round versions of it in both white and black, plus flush square and round fittings in the range if you would rather the light came straight down. Lamps are not included.
