Description

This is a small round spotlight with a funnel-shaped interior tilted at 45 degrees, so the beam leaves to one side rather than dropping straight down. The trim measures 93mm across the face, which keeps it quiet on a ceiling that carries several of them. It is black inside and out, so the aperture reads as a dark recess instead of a bright ring, and the funnel shape helps hold the lamp back out of direct view. It runs on a GU10 lamp and the lampholder is already fitted.

An angled spot earns its keep wherever the thing worth lighting is not directly beneath the ceiling point: a run of kitchen cabinets, a chimney breast, a shelf of books, a picture on a landing. Set a few in a line and you can wash a whole wall while leaving the middle of the room softer. It will dim, provided the lamp itself is a dimmable one and the dimmer suits it. We would put an LED reflector lamp in ours and think no more about it.

The finish is black across the visible face and down into the funnel, and the fitting is double insulated. Upkeep is minimal: with the power off and the lamp cold, take a dry cloth around the trim now and then, and where kitchen air has left a greasy film, a barely damp cloth and a dry wipe after will lift it. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the same funnel in white as well as black, in square as well as round, and with a straight centre funnel if you want some of the run pointing down. Lamps are not included.
