Description

This is a small square recessed spotlight with a black face and a funnel centre, so the lamp sits back from the front edge and away from your eyeline. The face measures 93mm square and the fitting is shallow behind it. It takes one GU10 lamp up to 12W, and the lampholder is already wired in, so a reflector LED capsule simply twists into place. Dimming works where the lamp fitted is a dimmable type; no dimmer is supplied. Nothing about it shouts, which is rather the point in a ceiling that already has a lot going on.

We use this square profile where a scheme wants crisp corners rather than circles, and it suits kitchens, hallways, landings, living rooms and bedrooms equally well. Because the funnel recesses the lamp, it is comfortable over a dining table or a kitchen island, where a flatter fitting can catch the eye. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, well away from showers and splashes. Space several along a run for even, low key light, or use it on its own to pick out a shelf, a doorway or a picture.

The trim, funnel and body carry the same black finish, so the fitting reads as one piece once a lamp is in, and it is double insulated. Cleaning asks very little: turn the power off, let the lamp go cold, then run a dry cloth around the face to lift dust from the corners. Avoid sprays and solvents on the black, which can dull it. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the same square funnel in white, round faces in black and white, and an angled funnel if you would rather tilt the beam. Lamps are not included.
