Description

A neat round spotlight with a funnel-shaped centre, finished in plain white so it reads quietly against a pale ceiling. The trim measures 93mm across and the body sits shallow behind it. It takes a GU10 lamp of up to 12W, with the lampholder already fitted, and it will dim if the lamp you choose is dimmable and there is a suitable dimmer on the circuit. The funnel draws the lamp face back from the trim, which softens the glare when you stand under it.

We reach for these where a room wants light spread evenly rather than gathered in one spot: kitchens, hallways, landings, a bedroom where a ceiling sits low. A run of them along a worktop or down a corridor gives useful light with nothing hanging into the space, and the small white trim disappears into the ceiling line once the lamp is in. We would put an LED reflector lamp in it, a warm white for living rooms and bedrooms, something cooler for a kitchen or utility. Keep it to dry rooms, away from shower zones and splashing.

The fitting is light in the hand and double insulated, with an even white finish across the ring and the funnel. Wipe it with a dry cloth once the lamp is off and cold, and keep solvents and cream cleaners away from the white, since they can dull it. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the same round funnel in black, and the funnel shape is also offered as a square in white and black, along with an angled funnel if you would rather push the beam towards a wall or a picture. Flush versions are in the range as well, for anyone who wants the trim reading flatter against the ceiling. Lamps are not supplied.
