Description
This resin lady figurine catches a graceful moment, one hand raised to her temple and the other lifting the long train of her draped gown so it sweeps down in a wide curve to her feet. The gown falls from one shoulder, gathers in a soft knot at the hip and is patterned all over with small flowers, picked out in a silvery finish with a warm gold tint against the bronze of her skin and hair. Her hair is set close to her head under a beaded band, with a flower tucked beside her ear, and she stands barefoot on a round domed base. The whole piece has a metallic-effect finish in bronze, and she measures 31cm tall, 14.5cm wide and 8.5cm deep.
At 31cm tall she has real presence on a mantelpiece, a sideboard or a dressing table, and at only 8.5cm deep she sits happily on a bookshelf or a wide windowsill. She suits a hallway console as well as a bedroom or sitting room, and the silvery gown shows up beautifully in lamplight against dark wood or a plain painted wall. The floral pattern carries right round her back, so she looks as finished from the side or behind, ideal for an open shelf or a table viewed from more than one angle.
She is made of resin, which holds fine detail well, from the beads of her headband to the folds of the gown and her toes, and the round base lets her stand freely on any flat surface. To keep the finish bright, dust her with a soft dry cloth and, if needed, wipe gently with a barely damp cloth, avoiding harsh cleaners. Set her where she will not be knocked, and angle her slightly so the sweep of the train catches the light. She makes a thoughtful gift, and we think she looks lovely beside a vase of fresh flowers.
