The Kyoto is a single pendant light combining a black metal frame with a black marble decorative element and a frosted glass cylinder shade. The marble piece sits between two hemispherical metal forms on the suspension rod, creating a visual break between the ceiling canopy and the glass shade below. The pendant takes a single G9 bulb (sold separately) housed within the frosted glass cylinder.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters where a compact pendant provides focused downward light, the Kyoto adjusts from 46.5cm to 336.5cm drop on installation. This allows the fitting to be set 60-80cm above a worktop or dining surface in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings, or hung lower in higher-ceilinged spaces. The 10cm diameter keeps the visual footprint small while the frosted glass diffuses the G9 bulb to reduce glare.

The black marble element adds material weight and texture to what would otherwise be a minimal metal-and-glass form. The marble section is approximately 8cm in diameter, visibly larger than the metal suspension rod, and its polished surface contrasts with the matt black metal above and below. The glass cylinder extends approximately 15cm below the marble, providing enough diffusion to soften a clear G9 bulb while retaining directional light output. The IP20 rating limits the Kyoto to dry indoor locations.

The Kyoto takes a single G9 halogen or LED bulb up to 28W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a G9 LED between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light over a dining table or kitchen island.

How low can it hang?

The drop is adjustable on installation from 46.5cm (minimum) to 336.5cm (maximum). For a kitchen island or dining table, the pendant typically hangs 60-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings.

Is the marble element fragile?

The black marble section is solid and durable under normal use, but marble is a natural stone and can chip or crack if subjected to impact during installation or cleaning. Handle the pendant carefully when unpacking and fitting.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the G9 bulb chosen. Dimmable G9 LED bulbs are available, but not all G9 LEDs support dimming. Check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer switch.
