Kurlz 9 Light Crystal Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Kurlz is a 520mm semi-flush ceiling light built from twisted polished chrome ribbons arranged in a sculptural spiral, with nine G4 halogen bulbs (included) positioned throughout the structure. Each chrome curl terminates in a faceted Asfour crystal disc that refracts light across the fitting's multiple reflective surfaces. The 370mm drop from ceiling to lowest point suits rooms with 2.4m or higher ceilings.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls where decorative lighting is needed without a long pendant drop, the Kurlz combines ambient and accent lighting. The chrome ribbons twist at different angles, so light reflects and redirects across the polished metal rather than casting hard shadows. The semi-flush canopy mounts directly to a UK standard ceiling rose, with the electrical connections and transformer housing concealed behind the perforated chrome drum visible in the image.

The nine G4 halogen bulbs run at 20W each (180W total) on mains voltage through an integrated transformer. The fitting is dimmable using a trailing-edge dimmer — leading-edge dimmers are not compatible with the transformer and will cause flicker or failure. The Asfour crystals are optical-grade leaded glass cut to specific facet angles, so the refractive effect is consistent across the fitting. At 4.5kg the Kurlz requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or reinforced ceiling rose rated for the weight.

Is the Kurlz dimmable?

Yes, but only with a trailing-edge dimmer. The integrated transformer is not compatible with leading-edge dimmers, which will cause flicker or failure. Check your dimmer specification before installation or contact us for compatible dimmer recommendations.

Can I use LED or CFL bulbs?

No. The Kurlz uses G4 halogen bulbs only. LED and CFL G4 bulbs are not compatible with the transformer and will not operate correctly. The fitting ships with nine 20W G4 halogen bulbs included.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 370mm drop from ceiling to lowest point works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Kurlz, but the fitting will occupy more of the vertical room space and may feel dominant in smaller rooms.

How is the chrome cleaned?

Wipe polished chrome with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or smudges, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will scratch the polished finish. The Asfour crystals can be wiped gently with a dry cloth — avoid soaking or using household sprays.
