Description

The Kostrena is a white and black ceiling fan and light in one round fitting. A white ring of plastic with a crystal effect circles a black grille, the fan blades sit tucked behind that grille, and a white canopy holds it to the ceiling. It measures 45.5cm across and 19cm high, a modest drop that helps in rooms where headroom matters. The light is integrated LED, three lights at 8.5W each giving 1,100lm per light, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. The colour temperature runs from 2700K, a warm white, to 6500K, a cool daylight white, and the light is dimmable.

It belongs in a living room or a similar dry room indoors, where one fitting on the ceiling does two jobs: light through the evening and a moving breeze on a warm day. The fan has three speeds, so you can keep a gentle draught going while you read and turn it up on the hottest afternoons. A remote control comes in the box, handy when the fitting is out of reach. At 45.5cm across it sits neatly on the ceiling without crowding it, and the crystal effect gives the white ring a fine speckled finish.

ABS is a tough plastic that holds its shape, and it makes up the white and black body, while the shade is white plastic with a crystal effect. The fan runs on 220 to 240V at 50Hz, standard household mains, and carries energy class E. It weighs 3.614KG packed. As a mains fitting wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, so you and your electrician can read them before fitting day.
