Description

The Knot is a 12W LED wall light built around a continuous chrome-plated loop that curves from the wall mounting point up through a frosted white diffuser panel and back down to the base. The integrated LED sits behind the frosted panel, casting 840 lumens of 3000K warm white light through the loop structure with a 120° beam angle. A touch-sensitive control on the chrome base allows dimming without external switches or wall controls.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms and hallways where adjustable ambient light is needed without ceiling-mounted fittings, the Knot mounts to standard UK back boxes and projects 171mm from the wall. The touch dimmer responds to finger pressure on the chrome base, cycling through brightness levels from full output down to a low night-light mode. The 190mm width and 240mm height suit walls with clearance above furniture or beside beds where a reading light with variable intensity is useful.

The chrome finish is applied to a polycarbonate and fibreglass body, keeping the total weight at 630g while maintaining the reflective surface quality needed to bounce light around the loop. The frosted white diffuser panel hides the LED source and softens the light output, preventing glare when the fitting is viewed at eye level. The wide voltage range of 100-240V allows the fitting to run on UK mains and international supplies without modification.

How does the touch dimmer work?

The chrome base houses a capacitive touch sensor that responds to finger pressure. Touch once to turn the light on at the last-used brightness level, then tap repeatedly to cycle through dim, medium, and full output. Hold your finger on the sensor to smoothly ramp brightness up or down. Touch and hold again to turn the light off.

Can it be controlled by a standard wall switch?

Yes. The Knot can be wired to a standard on/off wall switch, which will cut power to the fitting entirely. When power is restored via the wall switch, the light turns on at full brightness regardless of the last dimmer setting. For retained dimming memory, leave the wall switch on and use only the touch control.

What wall clearance is needed?

The fitting projects 171mm from the wall once mounted. Allow at least 200mm of clearance above furniture, beds or other obstructions to avoid the loop being knocked. The 240mm height means the top of the loop will sit approximately 400mm above the mounting point.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced by the user. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which equates to around 11 years at 6 hours per day. Mantra provides a 3-year warranty on the integrated LED and driver.
