The Knot is a 740mm semi-flush ceiling light built around five curved LED ribbons that loop and cross in a sculptural knot shape, finished in silver with frosted white diffuser panels and polished chrome detailing. The integrated 60W LED produces 4800lm at 3000K warm white, distributed through a 120° beam angle that casts ambient light across the room while the frosted surfaces soften the output and reduce glare.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.7m, the Knot provides ambient lighting without the drop of a pendant, making it particularly suited to rooms where ceiling height is limited but a decorative fitting is still wanted. The 220mm projection from ceiling to base sits flush enough to avoid head clearance issues in typical residential settings. The dimmable LED allows output to be adjusted from bright task light at 4800lm down to low ambient levels for evening use, provided a compatible LED dimmer is fitted.

The silver finish on the curved ribbons reflects ambient daylight and picks up tonal shifts from artificial light in the room, creating different visual effects depending on time of day and surrounding colour palette. The looping form creates negative space within the fitting, giving the appearance of movement and complexity without the visual weight of a solid-body ceiling light. At 2.3kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or plasterboard anchor rated for the load.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design projects 220mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a pendant drop would be impractical. The 740mm diameter means it works best in rooms of at least 3.5-4m width to avoid dominating smaller spaces.

Is the LED replaceable?

What dimmer switch does it need?

The Knot requires a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer switch. Standard rotary dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs will not work correctly and may cause flickering or reduced lifespan. Check the dimmer packaging for explicit LED compatibility before pairing.

How bright is 4800lm in a living room?

4800lm provides sufficient ambient light for a living room or dining room of approximately 20-25m² at full output. When dimmed to 50-70%, the output is comfortable for evening use without additional task lighting. Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from additional fittings or supplementary task lights.
