Description

The Knightsbridge LWR4G is a 220mm round guide light with an integrated 5W LED housed in a grey powder-coated die-cast aluminium body rated IP44 for outdoor use. The LED casts 3500K neutral white light through a clear diffuser across a 170-degree beam angle, producing 230 lumens of downward wash light across pathway surfaces and adjacent walls.

Designed for pathway marking, entrance lighting and external stair guidance, the fitting surface-mounts to brick, render or timber cladding using the single central back plate. The 28mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, reducing obstruction on narrow pathways. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects down to 1mm, making it suitable for covered porches, pergolas and external walls under eaves where direct rainfall is limited.

The die-cast aluminium construction provides corrosion resistance in UK coastal and urban environments, while the Class II double-insulated design removes the need for an earth connection during installation. The AC LED operates directly from 230V mains without requiring a separate driver, simplifying the wiring run and reducing potential points of failure. The LED has an L70B50 rating of 60,000 hours, equating to approximately 20 years of use at 8 hours per night before output drops to 70% of original brightness.

Is this suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and small solid objects, making it suitable for covered porches, under-eave positions and sheltered pathways. For fully exposed positions subject to direct rainfall or pressure washing, an IP65-rated fitting would be more appropriate.

Does it require a separate LED driver?

No. The AC LED operates directly from 230V mains supply without needing a separate driver or transformer, simplifying installation and reducing potential points of failure.

What's the expected lifespan of the LED?

The LED has an L70B50 rating of 60,000 hours, meaning it will maintain at least 70% of its original brightness for approximately 20 years when used 8 hours per night. The LED is non-replaceable.

Can it be dimmed?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and operates at full 5W output when powered.
