Description

The Klampenborg is an outdoor wall light with an integrated PIR sensor, built from 304-grade stainless steel with a white powder-coated finish. A swan-neck arm extends 420mm from the wall, holding a clear glass globe under a metal hat shade. The PIR sensor sits in the wall-mounting backplate and triggers the light when motion is detected within its field of view.

Designed for front doors, rear entrances, garage doors and pathways where security lighting is needed, the PIR function switches the light on automatically when someone approaches and turns it off after a preset interval. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashes, making the fitting suitable for covered porch areas and wall positions under roof overhangs. The clear glass globe houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) up to 60W, allowing you to choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the application.

The white powder coating over the stainless steel resists corrosion in coastal and damp climates, while the 304-grade steel specification provides structural strength in exposed positions. The 275mm-diameter hat shade casts a downward pool of light onto the ground while protecting the bulb from direct rain. The swan-neck profile gives the fitting a traditional Scandinavian lantern appearance that pairs with both period and modern building facades. PIR sensor range and duration settings vary by model. Typical detection ranges are 6-12m at 180° horizontal coverage. Check the fitting instructions for the specific adjustment dials or settings on this unit, usually located on the backplate behind the wall mount.

Can it be used in fully exposed positions?

The IP44 rating protects against rain splashes and moisture but not against prolonged direct water jets or full immersion. The fitting is designed for wall positions under roof overhangs, porch canopies and recessed entrances. Fully exposed positions without any overhead shelter may reduce the lifespan of the PIR electronics.

What bulb should I use?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. For outdoor security lighting most users choose a warm white LED bulb between 8-12W (equivalent to 60-100W incandescent) at 2700K-3000K. Cool white bulbs at 4000K+ give a more industrial security lighting appearance.

How is the white finish maintained?

The powder-coated stainless steel can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. For stubborn marks use a mild soap solution and rinse with clean water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the powder coating.
