Description
The Klampenborg is an outdoor wall light built from 304-grade stainless steel with an oxide red powder-coated finish, combining a swan neck arm with a clear glass shade and a single E27 bulb fitting. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for sheltered porches, front doors, garage entrances and covered patios exposed to rain but not direct hose spray.
Designed for residential outdoor installation, the light mounts on a circular 95mm diameter backplate and projects 420mm from the wall on the curved swan neck arm. The clear glass shade sits beneath a wide conical canopy that shields the bulb from above while allowing light to spread downwards and outwards across a doorstep or pathway. The oxide red finish provides contrast against white, cream, grey or brick facades and suits both traditional cottage exteriors and Scandi-style contemporary builds.
The 304-grade stainless steel construction resists corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments better than mild steel or aluminium alternatives. The powder coating is applied over the steel rather than painted on, giving a more durable colour layer that resists chipping and fading under UV exposure. The fitting accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to 60W (sold separately), with most installations using a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K for porch lighting.
Elstead Lighting backs the Klampenborg with a 15-year warranty covering manufacturing defects and corrosion failures. The swan neck design places the lamp head approximately 350mm below the mounting point, which works on wall heights of 2m or above to avoid head clearance issues beneath the shade.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in coastal locations?
Yes. The 304-grade stainless steel construction resists salt corrosion better than mild steel or aluminium. Periodic rinsing with fresh water helps maintain the finish in direct coastal exposure.
What bulb is recommended?
The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users install a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for porch and pathway lighting. Bulbs are sold separately.
Is it suitable for use directly above a door?
The swan neck design places the lamp head approximately 350mm below the mounting point and projects 420mm from the wall. When mounted at 2m height or above, there is adequate head clearance beneath the shade for door openings.
What does IP44 mean?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for sheltered outdoor positions exposed to rain but not direct hose spray or submersion.
