The Kiwi is a banker's desk lamp with a green glass dome shade mounted on an antique brass base and stem. The shade is formed from combined glass — bright green on the exterior, white on the interior — supported by a brass crossbar with turned finials. A single E27 bulb (up to 40W, sold separately) sits inside the dome, and the white inner coating directs light downwards onto the desk surface while softening the overall glow.

Designed as task lighting for desks, writing tables and bedside tables where concentrated downlight is needed, the Kiwi follows the traditional banker's lamp form that emerged in early 20th-century libraries and offices. The 26cm-wide shade provides enough spread to cover A4 documents or a laptop without flooding the whole room with light. The curved brass stem and weighted round base keep the lamp stable on small desks without needing additional clamping or fixing.

What bulb does it take?

The Kiwi takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for desk work, which provides adequate task light without excessive brightness.

Is the lamp adjustable?

No. The shade position is fixed on the curved stem. The lamp is designed to be positioned on the desk surface where downlight is needed rather than adjusted after placement.

Can it be used on a bedside table?

Yes. The Kiwi works well as a bedside reading lamp where a directed pool of light is preferred over ambient room lighting. The green glass filters the light, making it less harsh for late-evening reading.

How is the glass cleaned?

The combined glass shade can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners that might scratch the green outer coating. The brass finials unscrew to allow the crossbar to be removed if deeper cleaning of the interior white coating is needed.
