Description

The Kichler rectangular ceiling plate is a 635mm metal canopy designed to support three pendant lights from a single ceiling outlet, with three cable exit points spaced along its length. The antique pewter finish is a warm metallic grey with a low-sheen brushed surface that sits between polished nickel and aged bronze in tone. The plate mounts flush to the ceiling and conceals the electrical connection point for multi-pendant installations.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and bar counters where three pendants hung in a line provide more even light distribution than a single central fitting, the plate allows pendant cables to drop at 210mm intervals along the 635mm length. This spacing suits island widths of 900-1200mm and dining tables seating 4-6. The plate itself projects 127mm from the ceiling once fitted, so the combined canopy and pendant drop should be calculated against ceiling height to ensure adequate headroom above the work surface or table.

The metal construction provides structural support for three mini-pendants with a combined weight up to approximately 6kg, though this depends on the specific ceiling fixing used. The antique pewter finish pairs comfortably with stainless steel appliances, brushed nickel taps and both warm and cool kitchen colour schemes. The rectangular profile keeps the canopy visible as an intentional design element rather than attempting to hide the multi-pendant connection, so it works best in kitchens and dining rooms where the industrial or transitional aesthetic of exposed ceiling plates is welcome.

Frequently Asked

What pendant lights is this compatible with?

The plate accepts three mini-pendant lights with standard cord suspension. The cable exit points are spaced approximately 210mm apart along the 635mm length. Most Kichler mini-pendants and other brands with adjustable cord suspension will fit, provided the combined weight does not exceed the plate's load capacity.

Does it come with the pendant lights?

No. The ceiling plate is sold separately as a mounting accessory. Pendant lights, bulbs and electrical connection components are purchased separately.

What ceiling fixing is required?

The plate must be fixed to a ceiling joist or reinforced ceiling rose capable of supporting the combined weight of the plate and three pendants. Standard plasterboard fixings are not suitable. If the existing ceiling outlet is not in the correct position for the plate's dimensions, an electrician may need to relocate the outlet or install additional ceiling support.

Can it be used with adjustable-height pendants?

Yes. Pendants with adjustable cord length can be set to different heights to create a staggered or level arrangement depending on preference. The 127mm plate projection should be included in the total drop calculation from ceiling to pendant base.
