Description

The Keselle is a slim LED pendant light: a gently curved chrome bar hung on two fine wires from a rectangular ceiling canopy. It measures 90cm long and 10cm wide, with an overall height of 100cm. The body is aluminium and steel in a bright chrome finish, and a white plastic shade runs the length of the bar. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 15W and giving 1,800 lumens of warm white light at 3000K, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

We think it looks most at home over a dining table, where the long curve follows the line of the tabletop and lights the people sitting around it. It works just as well over a desk or a sideboard in a living room, study or open-plan kitchen, anywhere indoors and dry. At 1,800 lumens it gives plenty of light for meals, homework or a newspaper, while the 3000K colour keeps the room warm and relaxed in the evening. The chrome finish and slim profile suit a modern or minimal room without crowding it, and the open space beneath the bar keeps sightlines clear across the table.

The light is not dimmable and has no switch of its own, so it runs from your wall switch, where one press lights the whole bar. It runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz and carries an energy class of E. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. A soft, dry cloth keeps chrome bright and free of fingerprints. Packed, it weighs a manageable 1.132KG, and since there is no bulb to replace, there is little to do once it is hanging.
