Kelham Hall 5 Light Chandelier - Firenze Gold & British Bronze

The Kelham Hall is a 5-light chandelier combining a British bronze cast frame with Firenze gold accents and five hand-painted India Scavo glass shades. Each shade sits upward-facing in a tulip-bell shape at the end of scrolled metal arms that curve out from a central ribbed column and spherical body. The frame itself weighs approximately 8kg and spans 686mm diameter, giving it a substantial presence without overwhelming rooms up to 5m square.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the chandelier provides ambient lighting distributed across five E27 bulb positions (bulbs sold separately). The 1524mm chain allows the drop to be adjusted between 865mm minimum and 2390mm maximum on installation, so the fitting can be set 700-900mm above a dining table or higher in a double-height hall. The Scavo glass is hand-painted with a cream-to-amber gradient that softens the light output and adds texture when viewed from below.

The British bronze base finish is a dark metallic brown-grey with a low-sheen surface that minimises reflections under daylight, while the Firenze gold accents at the arm tips, column bands and decorative beading provide contrast without dominating the overall colour palette. The scrollwork on the arms and the ribbed detailing on the central sphere reference early 20th-century European lighting, making the chandelier pair well with period properties, traditional interiors and transitional schemes that mix classical and contemporary elements. The glass shades are removable for cleaning and bulb changes via a threaded collar at each arm tip.

What bulbs does the Kelham Hall take?

The chandelier uses five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the hand-painted Scavo glass shades.

Can the glass shades be removed for cleaning?

Yes. Each shade unscrews from a threaded collar at the arm tip, allowing removal for cleaning or bulb changes. The hand-painted Scavo glass should be wiped gently with a dry microfibre cloth or a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid soaking or using chemical cleaners.

Is the chandelier suitable for low ceilings?

At 865mm minimum drop (790mm fitting height plus ceiling rose), the Kelham Hall requires a ceiling height of at least 2.6m to avoid head clearance issues in dining or circulation areas. Lower ceilings may benefit from a flush or semi-flush fitting instead.
