Description

The Kangos is a single wall light built around a slim column. It is made of brass and finished in matt black, with polished brass bands at its top, its middle and its foot. A short black arm carries it off a round black backplate, and a tapered black fabric shade sits on top, gold on the inside. It is 44cm tall and 20cm wide, and it stands 22cm out from the wall. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so you choose the bulb that suits the room.

We see it in a bedroom, as a pair either side of the bed, or in a dining room framing a sideboard or a painting. It also suits a living room, either side of a fireplace or a mirror. The black and brass work with dark painted walls as readily as with pale ones, and the column keeps a narrow outline on the wall. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, which suits every one of those rooms. The black is RAL 9005, useful if you want to match a painted frame, a radiator or the woodwork nearby.

Every Kangos is made to order for you in Ireland from brass and fabric, with the matt black and the polished brass set side by side on the one fitting. It is a mains fitting, to be wired in by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. Measure the spot before you order. It needs 44cm of height and 22cm of clear space out from the wall, so check that it clears a headboard, a door or a shelf.
