Description

The Kamarne is a round recessed LED downlight with a black aluminium body and a tilting inner ring, so you can angle the beam towards a worktop, a shelf or a favourite picture instead of straight down. It measures 8.8cm across, and its integrated LED draws 4.7W to give 440lm. You can change its colour, set the white anywhere from a warm 2700K to a bright 6500K, and dim it. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors, in dry rooms.

Set flush into the ceiling, it suits a living room or a kitchen, where a neat row of downlights gives even light without anything hanging into the room. The black trim makes a crisp ring against a pale ceiling and sits well beside black door handles or picture frames. Because it is controlled by app, one fitting can carry a whole day: bright, cool white while you cook or work, a soft warm glow in the evening, and a wash of colour for a party. It also works with a remote control, sold separately, for anyone who would rather not reach for a phone.

Aluminium is a light metal, and the whole downlight weighs 0.135KG packed. It needs a cut-out of 6.8cm and 4.2cm of depth in the ceiling, so check the space before you order. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and has no switch of its own: you turn it on at the wall, then the app handles colour and brightness. Its energy class is E.
